God’s Strength
Have you ever had one of those mornings that you know, before you even flop out of bed, that you’re in for a long, dare I say dreadful day?
You know, the mornings when you ask for an extra shot of espresso? Or purchase the extra large version of a super energy drink with 3000% vitamin B12?
We rely on these artificial stimulants to give us strength and awareness throughout the course of our day. We look to that cup of Joe as the cure-all for a day that feels like it will never expire. We can even come to a point when we need it so much that if we miss a single morning’s daily dose our whole day is thrown off balance.
You know where I’m going with this.
So why then do we never ask God for His strength with the same anticipation that we have towards man-made stimulants?
Did you know that God has more than enough strength to power you through the day and any temptations that may lay in your wake?
“. . . You formed the mountains by your power and armed yourself with mighty strength.” (Psalm 65:5-13)
To see evidence of God’s strength and power all you need to do is look out the window. God has created the heavens and the earth…And you! Surely He can give you enough strength to make it through any given situation or day.
So many times Christians (and non Christians) fall into the trap of boxing God into confines of the Bible; thinking He can do no more than provide fortune cookie-like horoscopes for the day.
But God is alive and ready to guide and bless your life and those around you. He wants you to rely on Him day in and day out so that He can show you that He is more than just ancient words on a page.
“. . . Those who wait on the Lord will find new strength.” (Isaiah 40:29-31)
If you truly have faith in God to deliver He will.
Are you in need of a little extra boost in your life?
Have you asked God for His strength yet?
“. . . The joy of the Lord is your strength!” (Nehemiah 8:10)
Remember that knowing God and what He has given us in salvation should put an everlasting smile on anyone’s heart. Just as He has given strength and boldness to the people of the Bible so to will He provide the same for you.
“. . . I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need.” (Philippians 4:13)
